Call To Worship

Have someone read through this call to worship from Psalm 62.

Yes, my soul, find rest in God;
my hope comes from him.
Truly he is my rock and my salvation;
he is my fortress, I will not be shaken.
My salvation and my honor depend on God.
he is my mighty rock, my refuge.
Trust in him at all times, you people;
pour out your hearts to him,
for God is our refuge.
— Psalm 62:5-8

Going Deeper

You don’t have to answer all of these questions. Look them over, and use one or two that might be helpful as you respond to God’s Word.

  1. What does it mean that Jesus met Thomas right where he was doubting? What does this say to us about when we have doubts? If you are struggling with unbelief this morning, consider the prayer of the epileptic boy’s father in Mark 9:24:“I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!”

  2. Belief shapes who we actually follow and we actually serve. The resurrection means this week that we can confidently embrace a new life filled with purpose in following and serving our “Lord and our God”. How has following our Lord and God been going for you during this time? Have we allowed unbelief in big or small things to stop us from following in certain ways? Or is belief manifesting itself in ways that are much clearer than just mentally assenting to an idea? Is it playing out in real, tangible, and even noticeable ways to others?

  3. Its not complicated - believing in Jesus gives us life! This pandemic is awful in every way, yet there are open doors for conversations about meaningful and significant things with family, loved ones, and neighbors. Who in your life could use hearing this simple truth from Thomas’ life?

Community Updates & PRAYER

Submit a Prayer Request: Share with one another the needs, challenges, and joys that you, your family, your neighbors, and your workplaces are going through during this time. Prayer requests can be shared with either our whole church, or just the prayer leadership teams.

Spend Some Time in Prayer: We have collected some prayer requests that have been submitted to us and we have posted them on our community prayer wall. This morning, we invite you to pray for those needs posted there, and we also invite you pray over what was shared or discovered in the Going Deeper questions above.

Share a Photo or Video: Here you have an opportunity to post a video, photo, or selfie from different groups and families to share with one another. Take a selfie with Worship Online in the background! Hold up signs! Express your gratitude and celebrate being a part of Community Church!

Benediction

Choose someone to read the passage of Scripture below out loud, or have someone from your family or Zoom group read it out loud as a benediction over our church family.

But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.
— John 20:31

May you go, believing in Jesus, and experiencing life in His name, today!
