Welcome & Announcements
Call To Worship
Have someone read through this call to worship from Psalm 9. As you prepare your heart for worship, consider God’s goodness, faithfulness, and love. May that draw us into worship and a fullness of joy this morning.
I will give thanks to you, Lord, with all my heart;
I will tell of all your wonderful deeds.
I will be glad and rejoice in you;
I will sing the praises of your name, O Most High.
The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed,
a stronghold in times of trouble.
Those who know your name trust in you,
for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you.
— Psalm 9:1-2, 9-10

This week, we’re studying John 3:25-30 as Pastor Tim re-introduces us to Kellie and Justin Frank. Justin will be sharing for us as part of our preaching series: Sent.
Going Deeper
You don’t have to answer all of these questions. Look them over, and use one or two that might be helpful as you respond to God’s Word. Let’s dig into how Justin discussed three principles for what makes the ‘Sent’ life - the joy-filled life.
The first principle that Justin shared was that John grasped the sweeping nature of God’s grace, and was grateful for it. John understood that everything good in his life was from God. That drew him to understand that what others might perceive as a loss of fame or importance, for John, was all a part of God’s sovereign and higher plan for His life. How do we stop and remember to be grateful for the sweeping nature of God’s grace and goodness? Spend some time sharing with your family, small group, or friends how you see God’s goodness and grace even, or maybe especially, during this challenging season.
The second principle was that John knew his place in God’s story, and he embraced it. At a basic level, this principle is all about remembering that we are not God. Spend some time in reflection and silence remembering that:
We don’t know everything… but God does (Omniscience)
We can’t fix everything… but God can (Omnipotence)
We can’t be everywhere… God can (Omni-presence)
The third and final principle was that John saw the distinctive beauty of God’s Son, and served him. A popular sentiment in our world is that all religions are the same. That could not be further from the truth. Jesus didn’t come to help “basically good people” be better — He came to bridge an infinite gap for wholly broken people to come home and be with the perfect God. This is distinct. This is categorically earth-shattering good news. John’s response was to serve this God and embrace whatever that meant. Spend some time in prayer with God thanking him and asking Him to draw us into true adoration, and ultimately true devotion to his purposes (wherever that may ‘send’ you).
Community Updates & PRAYER
Submit a Prayer Request: Share with one another the needs, challenges, and joys that you, your family, your neighbors, and your workplaces are going through during this time. Prayer requests can be shared with either our whole church, or just the prayer leadership teams.
Spend Some Time in Prayer: We have collected some prayer requests that have been submitted to us and we have posted them on our community prayer wall. This morning, we invite you to pray for those needs posted there, and we also invite you pray over what was shared or discovered in the Going Deeper questions above.
Share a Photo or Video: Here you have an opportunity to post a video, photo, or selfie from different groups and families to share with one another. Take a selfie with Worship Online in the background! Hold up signs! Express your gratitude and celebrate being a part of Community Church!
Benediction
Choose someone to read the passage of Scripture below out loud, or have someone from your family or Zoom group read it out loud as a benediction over our church family.
“The Lord bless you, and keep you;
The Lord make His face shine on you,
And be gracious to you;
The Lord lift up His countenance on you,
And give you peace.’ Amen
— Numbers 6:24-26
