Call To Worship

Have someone read through this call to worship from Psalm 63. As you prepare your heart for worship, remember that we were made to worship our God. We were made to know Him and to be known by Him.

O God, you are my God; earnestly I seek you;
    my soul thirsts for you;
my flesh faints for you,
    as in a dry and weary land where there is no water.
So I have looked upon you in the sanctuary,
    beholding your power and glory.
Because your steadfast love is better than life,
    my lips will praise you.
So I will bless you as long as I live;
    in your name I will lift up my hands.

— Psalm 63:1-4

This week, we’re studying Numbers 11 as Pastor Jake re-introduces us to Kayle and Mat Pelletier who will be sharing for us as part of our preaching series: Sent.

Going Deeper

You don’t have to answer all of these questions. Look them over, and use one or two that might be helpful as you respond to God’s Word.

  1. Tucked away in this ‘rebellion narrative’ in the OT book of numbers is a picture of God’s provision to raise up co-laborers for his mission that He calls us towards. Another distinctive at community church, beyond ‘sending’, is one that finds its root in the word co-labor. It’s our distinctive of ‘collaboration’. Where have you seen within our church family collaboration on display? Where have you seen God raise up not only that idea, but the individuals who have become co-laborers at our church?

  2. Where has God called you to be ‘sent’, right here on Cape Ann? When you consider this call, does the task seem too large or overwhelming? Using Moses example, have you prayed for co-laborers? Have you watched to see how God is faithful to provide more than we need? If the mission that God has placed on you is too much, spend some time actually sharing your heart with the Lord and inquiring how He may be faithful to provide today.

  3. Perhaps this morning you aren’t sure what it looks like yet to experience how Jesus places the call to be ‘sent’ in your own life. Consider Kayle’s stories of being adaptable to the Lord’s leading. Do you spend time listening to see if God may be calling you out? Do you talk to others in our church family about what this looks like. Consider reaching out to a member of your small group, a mentor, or a friend from our church to talk more about what being ‘sent’ right here might look like.

Community Updates & PRAYER

Submit a Prayer Request: Share with one another the needs, challenges, and joys that you, your family, your neighbors, and your workplaces are going through during this time. Prayer requests can be shared with either our whole church, or just the prayer leadership teams.

Spend Some Time in Prayer: We have collected some prayer requests that have been submitted to us and we have posted them on our community prayer wall. This morning, we invite you to pray for those needs posted there, and we also invite you pray over what was shared or discovered in the Going Deeper questions above.

Share a Photo or Video: Here you have an opportunity to post a video, photo, or selfie from different groups and families to share with one another. Take a selfie with Worship Online in the background! Hold up signs! Express your gratitude and celebrate being a part of Community Church!

Benediction

Choose someone to read the passage of Scripture below out loud, or have someone from your family or Zoom group read it out loud as a benediction over our church family.

“Now to him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you blameless before the presence of his glory with great joy, to the only God, our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen.

— Jude 24-25
