Advent 2019

Advent is here.  We have darkened the sanctuary.  The candles are lit. We have hung stars overhead. Our preaching turns into storytelling. We adopt a posture of reflection and expectancy as we anticipate the coming of Jesus, our Savior and our Lord, at Christmas.

This year, we are exploring this idea that "God Came Down."  It is almost inconceivable that the all-powerful God of the universe would condescend to take on human form in the person of Jesus.  Why on earth would he do such a thing?  Each Sunday of advent, we'll be answering this question by looking at a different snapshot of Jesus' life and ministry while on earth.  Each Sunday, we'll explore a different angle on why God Came Down.  So each Sunday, we'll be telling a story from the life and ministry of Jesus that reveals just how incredible God's purposes are, especially the way He chose to come to earth in the person of Jesus -- whose birth we anticipate throughout this season of Advent.

So join us for our Sunday morning worship service at 10:30 am each week of Advent as we look to answer the question, "Why did God come down?"  What is the reason for the incarnation?  What does it mean that Jesus is "Immanuel" -- God with us?
